Watch Paul McCartney Perform ‘Helter Skelter’ With Members of Muse
For any Beatles cover band, getting one of the group's surviving members to join you onstage is basically living the dream. Of course, the odds of it happening are incredibly low, but your chances go way up if those Fab Four cover gigs are really just a sideline for your chart-topping other band — as is the case with Dr. Pepper’s Jaded Hearts Club Band, a just-for-fun project put together by members of Muse.
NME reports that the group played an "intimate gig" yesterday, which saw Muse singer Matt Bellamy and drummer Dom Howard in the Jaded Hearts Club Band lineup — along with Paul McCartney, who joined them onstage for the night's rendition of "Helter Skelter."
Bellamy later commemorated the collaboration with an Instagram post featuring a few seconds of video — which you can check out below — along with the caption "Just did Macca with Macca #walkinglegend."
As NME notes, this isn't the first time Dr. Pepper's Jaded Hearts Club Band has made the news. The group previously performed together last September, delivering a set at a friend's birthday party with a lineup that also included members of Nine Inch Nails and Jet. McCartney, meanwhile, is evidently fairly far along with his next album; as previously reported, he's said he'll "probably" release his follow-up to 2013's New at some point this year.
