The Rouse Ave – Main to Oak project that was scheduled to start today has now been delayed until Monday, October 7. The start of fall construction has been postponed by one week to allow for utility work to conclude and for additional permitting.

The Montana Department of Transportation is still anticipating that culvert construction will be completed in November, though some work may be carried over into spring construction. Expect to see the same closures on Rouse Avenue and Peach Street starting October 7, 2019.

MDT would like to remind you that construction crews will be installing two box culverts, which are tunnel-like structures that allow water to flow freely underneath the roadway. This work will be performed near the intersection of Peach Street and Rouse Avenue, where Bozeman Creek flows underneath the road. As a result, Rouse Avenue will be closed from Peach Street to Lamme Street, and Peach Street will be closed from Rouse Avenue to Church Avenue.

A detour will be in place for through traffic. Drivers will be re-routed from Oak Street to Seventh Avenue to Main Street.

Additional work will include tree trimming, storm drain installation, water main adjustments, and exploratory excavation. Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes to reroute through the downtown Bozeman area.
