‘Snail Mail My Email’ Website So Popular It Crashes
Snail Mail My Email, a site that offers to handwrite your emails on paper (and then send them via snail mail to their intended recipients) is on hiatus after being inundated with requests for the free service.
The site relies on a roster of 200 volunteers to do its transcribing and mailing. But even with that many lovers of the dying art of on-call handwriting, it was overwhelmed with over 1000 requests for transcription earlier this week and its founders have been forced to restructure the project.
Despite the hiccup, Snail Mail promises it will be up and running again soon, and is currently soliciting donations of time and money.
