UPDATE: The incident at the Comfort Inn hotel in Bozeman near 7th Ave. and Oak St. has been peacefully resolved. One person is in custody.

The Bozeman Police Department and the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office are currently working on an ongoing situation near Walmart located on N. 7th Avenue in Bozeman.

Officers are currently on the scene near Walmart in Bozeman. It incident involves a man that made statements that caused some concern for his safety and the safety of the public at the Comfort Inn hotel near the intersection of Oak St. and N. 7th Avenue in Bozeman.

A large police presence, including drones and the BearCat, a tactical military-style armored vehicle used by the Bozeman Police Department can be seen in the area. Oak St. between the Cannery District and the Comfort Inn is closed until further notice. Traffic is being diverted.

We got a call from a male at the Comfort Inn who wanted to speak with an officer. After about an hour of talking to the male, he made statements that caused some concern for his safety and the safety of the public. That is what caused the active incident that law enforcement is currently working. Our goal is to bring a peaceful resolution to this incident and ensure the safety of the public, the officers, and the male.
