Is Montana Expensive?

Montana's cost of living is actually higher than the national average, dispelling previous misconceptions about the state's affordability.

Montana is in the top 20. Is it a bit surprising? I mean kind of, considering a majority of the people who do live here wouldn't consider with the first consideration being affordability.

Certain things should just not be asked when moving to Montana, especially Bozeman.
