Belgrade's oldest bar, the Mint, is closing its doors.

The Mint has been an established business since the very early 1900s, according to the Belgrade centennial history book. The iconic business creates a large portion of Belgrade's historical identity.

The Mint's website attributed the closure to the loss of the liquor license the business was operating off of. According to the Mint website, the business was also required to install a fire suppression system or reduce seating capacity.

"We realize we could not operate the Mint in the capacity that our guest has [sic] come to expect," the website states.

This is not the first time the Mint has closed, but will it be the last?

The Mint's last day is April 25, and it is going out with a bang. The Mint will feature live music from Holocene.
