This Montana Town Shows It’s Pride At St. Patty’s Day Celebration
This was one of the best times I have had in Montana in a long time. The spirt and pride are hard to even put into words. Families coming together to show their "Irish Pride" was something everyone should witness. Also, I just want to note...holy moly for red heads. If I were to count, it would be well into the thousands.
Not only did I get to meet some of the most wonderful people, I got to make some new best friends. They were my "candy grabbers" and they proved their skills were far above most, as each parade float passed by.
When my co-worker wrote an article about "How Irish Is Montana", I knew I had to check out the famous Butte St. Patty's Day Parade. It was more than I could ever expect, and I would definitely agree that Butte is deserving of being the 2nd most Irish town in the United States.
Not only did I get to experience the real meaning of a St. Patty's Day Parade, I got to indulge in some delicious blarney stone dessert and also the traditional corn beef and cabbage. By far the best corned beef I have ever had, prepared by the MOST incredible hosts.
From police cars, motorcycles, floats and of course horses, the Butte parade was one I will be going to again. If you missed out on the celebration, I feel bad for you. There is always next year.
The sun was shining, the bag pipes were...piping, and everyone was smiling. I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend my St. Patrick's Day.
