Whitney Houston‘s death came as a huge shock to everyone, including the folks at ‘Saturday Night Live.’ With such little time after the announcement on Saturday to pay tribute to the legendary artist, NBC was still able to set a side a moment of silence to remember Houston and all her contributions.

The tribute included a photo from the famous sketch where Molly Shannon’s Mary Katherine Gallagher character has a holiday sing-off with Whitney Houston. (See a clip below.)

In 1991, Houston performed ‘I Believe In You and Me’ and ‘I Go To The Rock’ live on ‘SNL.’ She also appeared opposite Molly Shannon, Rosie O’Donnell and Will Ferrell in an unforgettable ‘Superstar’ sketch. Watch her incredible performance below.
