People are busy, I get it.

We live in a fast-paced world and many of us have places to go and people to see, however, I would like to think that we're not so busy that we can show a little common courtesy. Seriously, I'm not asking for much here.

Why do so many people in this town have a problem with putting away their shopping carts? It's not a hard task, and almost every retail parking lot across the city has several different areas to properly place the cart after you're done using it.

I didn't really start to notice until this past Holiday Season as I was doing my Christmas shopping. It seemed that almost every parking lot I went to had shopping carts where shopping carts don't be long. Listen, I understand. It's winter, it's cold, it's snowy, blah blah blah. No one wants to be outside more than they have to, but in this case, it literally takes seconds to complete a simple task.

Oh, and I'm not the only one that's noticed.  I asked some folks around town if they'd noticed an increase in abandoned shopping carts around Bozeman parking lots and many of them said they had.

For those that leave their shopping carts wherever I would say this.  Stop being so freaking lazy!  Also, don't use the excuse "well, the store pays people to do that".  Just because a business might pay people to gather up carts from designated locations, doesn't give you the excuse to be rude or inconsiderate.

Your rudeness not only takes up valuable parking spots, but it's also a hazard and can do damage to the vehicles in the lot, which then the person who owns the vehicle has to repair on their dime. The last thing that we want to do is pay out of our pocket because you couldn't take an extra 30 seconds and be a decent human being.

So for those of you that continue to do this, once again.  Stop it.
