Woman Injured in West Yellowstone Snowmobile Accident
Thankfully, no life threatening injuries were incurred in a snowmobiling accident just west of West Yellowstone this weekend.
According to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office:
On February 7, 2016 at 11:12 a.m., the West Yellowstone Police Department Dispatch received a 911 call from a snowmobiler on the Two Top Trail approximately 2 miles west of West Yellowstone.
The caller reported that his wife, a 56 year old female from Frankfurt Germany, suffered a shoulder dislocation when she was thrown from their two-up snowmobile as he attempted to turn around on the trail.
A Gallatin County Sheriff’s Deputy and the West Yellowstone Division of Sheriff’s Search and Rescue responded.
The team went to the location retrieved from the 911 call GPS coordinates and located the female who was experiencing extreme pain.
The team was able to use a two-up tracked rescue four wheeler to safely transport the injured female to rendezvous with a Hebgen Basin Fire Department Ambulance.
She was transported to Big Sky Medical Center for treatment.
