Beware of this Telephone Scam in Bozeman

Beware of calls from a NorthWestern Energy number that are asking for payments on your power bill saying they will cut off your power. It is their number but it is not them calling.

The caller tells customers to transfer large sums of money to pay your bill, and threatens that if you don't pay the money, NorthWestern Energy will come to your home or business and shut the power off.

If something doesn't sound right the best thing to do is double check by calling the company directly. If you receive a call from a scammer, call NorthWestern Energy at (888) 467-2669 to report it. Also, write down the number of the caller to give that to them so they can block it.
