
Montana Authorities Search for Suspect in Homicide Investigation
UPDATE: Alfred Joseph Smith, the suspect wanted in connection with a homicide in Cut Bank, was arrested Monday, February 9, in Fort Benton.
Authorities in Cut Bank are asking for the public’s assistance as they search for a man wanted in connection with a deadly incident that occurred over the weekend.
According to the Cut Bank Police Department, officers responded to an apartment complex in Cut Bank on February 7, where a deceased individual was discovered. Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Alfred Joseph Smith, who has since been charged with deliberate homicide, a felony under Montana law.

Police say Smith is believed to be traveling in a 2019 bluish-purple Hyundai Elantra bearing Montana license plate EJG626. Officials note that the vehicle pictured in the release is not the actual car but is representative of the make and model investigators are searching for.
Smith is believed to be accompanied by Natasha Siliezar. Authorities have emphasized that Smith should be considered armed and dangerous, and members of the public are urged not to approach him.
The investigation is being handled jointly by the Cut Bank Police Department and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation. Law enforcement officials are asking anyone who may have seen Smith, Siliezar, or the described vehicle, or who may have information about their whereabouts, to come forward.
