Here's Why College Gameday Coming To Bozeman Is A Good Thing.

ESPN College Gameday rolled into Bozeman Wednesday evening with their big bus and yesterday the town came out to welcome them in a great parade. To say that this is a big deal would be a huge understatement.

Of course, the College Gameday crew is here for The Brawl of the Wild at Bobcat Stadium this Saturday. This will be the 121st meeting of the two teams, which just happens to be one of the oldest rivalries west of the Mississippi River.

The national broadcast will kick off at 7am mountain time and will give the entire nation an up-close look at Bozeman, Montana.

It's no secret that a lot of Montanans don't appreciate all of the folks that either come to visit or move here. In fact, if you spend a little time online reading about anything Montana-related, you will notice that a very popular answer is either "We're full" or "Go back where you came from."

The truth is, ESPN choosing Bozeman is a fantastic thing for not only Bozeman, but the state of Montana. Not only does it allow the whole world in on one of the most intense and storied rivalries in the country, it's also great for both universities as far as exposure and recruiting.

Now, it seems that our friends over in Missoula had their feelings hurt a little that Gameday overlooked them last year, but decided to go with Bozeman this year.

When you take emotions out of the equation, it makes sense. The Cats are coming off a National Championship game appearance, they're undefeated in the Big Sky Conference, Bozeman has a better airport and a better selection of hotels, and we have a Pickle Barrel.

Not to mention that all the visitors and extra attention will be great for local businesses that struggled during the summer due to the flooding in the area.
