Gallatin County and other Montana counties will be under a fire weather watch tomorrow.

The fire weather watch is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Billings. This means low humidity, hot temperatures and strong, gusty winds will create critical fire weather conditions.

Winds are expected to be 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts of 25 to 35 miles per hour. Humidity is expected to be 10 to 15 percent with temperatures in the 90s.

In addition to Gallatin County, several counties in central and southcentral Montana are also under a fire weather watch, including Golden Valley, Musselshell, Wheatland, Carbon, Park, Stillwater, Sweet Grass and Yellowstone.

An air quality alert is also in effect in the area until further notice. In Bozeman, the air is currently rated “unhealthy for sensitive groups,” according to the National Weather Service.
