I'm definitely in that period of life where I don't FEEL old, but my body occasionally reminds me that time is marching on. Aches and pains from old sports injuries make themselves known more loudly now.

If you have ever considered buying one of these ridiculous looking foot/leg massagers, DO IT. I held off for a few years but I'm now the proud owner of this bright red machine of appendage happiness.

In addition to old soccer injuries, my years of near constant flip-flop wearing have taken a toll on my feet. They ache. Often. A lot. They keep me up at night to the point of thinking "do I have that stupid Restless Leg Syndrome thing"? Perhaps I'm now a believer.

This particular foot/leg massager isn't terribly expensive compared to several others I found online. It's got all the bells and whistles like heat, speed, massage, etc. The best part is that it seems pretty 'tough' but is still very lightweight and easy to move from one room to another.

The moral of the story is: if you find yourself wishing for your own personal massage therapist for your legs and feet, don't hesitate to get one of these things. I've never had one before so I can't say this one is better than another but I LOVE IT so far.

You'll find dozens of variations and price points. This one was about $200 but as I said, it has all the bells and whistles. The only thing that is challenging - the device itself is rather "tall" so you need to be picky about where you sit to enjoy it. Or maybe I'm just short.
