Depending on who you talk to, Montana is either full or there is plenty of space for folks to either come live or visit.

For those who subscribe to the "We're full" theory, it's not true. Montana is ranked near the bottom when it comes to annual visitors.

Now, don't get me wrong, I get it. We've had a lot of idiots move here in the last few years. Plus, if you spend any time at either Yellowstone or Glacier, you know that the tourists can be totally out of control, but that's a different story for a different day.

We mentioned both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, and it just so happens that both made the Top 10 List for the Most Visited National Parks in the Country. I mean, that's not a big surprise. Yellowstone is America's oldest National Park, and Glacier is simply stunning.

However, the question is, where do they rank in the Top 10? Are they towards the top or more towards the bottom? Before we reveal their ranking, let's take a look at some incredible places to visit just outside of Montana.

How popular are Montana's National Parks?

According to GeoCurious, the numbers for 2024 are in, and this is where both Glacier and Yellowstone rank in the Top 10. Kicking off the list in the 10th spot is Glacier National Park with a total of 3.21 million people visiting the Park in 2024.

So, where is Yellowstone ranked? The popular National Park did make the Top 5; in fact, America's Oldest National Park is ranked 4th with a total of 4.74 million folks visiting the Park in 2024.

If you're curious as to the 3 parks that beat out Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon came in 3rd, followed by Zion National Park in 2nd, and coming in 1st is the Great Smoky Mountains, which saw almost 13 million visitors last year.
