We all believe he left too soon, but hopefully, he can recreate some of his success in his new post.

The Montana State Football season officially heartbreakingly ended this past Saturday after a PAT was blocked in overtime. The Bobcats have had so much success recently, reaching the FCS National Championship game in 2021 and the FCS Semi-Finals in 2022. Many fans hoped the team would end their season in the National Championship game.

Sadly, that wasn't the case this year. One coach who helped the Montana State football program to become a constant success in the past decade started with Jeff Choate.

Jeff Choate brought in coaches and players to show off his play style and won Bobcat fans with his undefeated record against instate rivals, the University of Montana Grizzlies.

After building the Bobcats into an FCS football powerhouse, Choate left after the 2019 season to be the linebackers and co-defensive coordinator for the Texas Longhorns. It was a lucrative job he couldn't pass up.

Choate has a new head coaching gig and will have his work cut out for his new job.

It was announced today that Jeff Choate will take over the head coaching job at the University of Nevada-Reno.

The Nevada Wolfpack is a member of the Mountain West Conference and has several tough opponents, including Boise State, UNLV, and San Jose State. The Wolfpack used to be a decent FBS program but has fallen on tough times. Choate will be tasked with building the program again like he did with Montana State.

If one man is up for that job, it's Jeff Choate. Many Bobcat fans miss Choate, but we wish him nothing more than success in his new program.
