We couldn't be more thrilled to have celebrated Los Angeles heroes turned world ambassadors, Ozomatli, at Big Sky Resort this Labor Day weekend as one of our Spruce Moose headliners. They truly are special musicians and people. This intimate look at the band in the studio with 7-time Grammy Award winning producer/mixer/engineer, Elliot L. Scheiner, paints the real picture:

Ozomatli are true veterans of music and life. In their 14 years together, they've gone from the voice of Los Angeles to citizens of the world. Music was always their platform for a much bigger message and purpose. Ozomatli has participated in everything from earthquake prep "hip hop ghetto plays" at inner-city L.A. elementary schools to community activist events, protests and fundraisers. They have traveled the world touring and lending their labor of love. They've offered musical workshops, visited arts centers, summer camps, youth rehabilitation centers, and even a Palestinian refugee camp. In 2006, Ozomatli were named U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors.

Check out this behind-the-scenes look at Ozomatli as they work with legendary, acclaimed producer Elliot Scheiner. Listen to Scheiner describe his first impression of the band, which led to his desire to work with them. You can just hear and see a respect for these guys that goes beyond their musicianship. We are very lucky to have them at the base of Big Sky Resort celebrating Labor Day with us!
