Mountain Jam has revealed the dates for next year's festival. It will be held in its usual location at Hunter Mountain in Hunter, N.Y., and will take place from June 16-18, 2017.

This marks a switch from its traditional spot of the weekend after Memorial Day. In a statement on its website, the festival's organizers said that the change was motivated by a desire to create a better experience for the fans and artists due to the probability of better weather.

"Since its inception in 2005," it read. "Mountain Jam has been held at the end of May/early June. However for 2017, we have decided to move the date to June 16-18, 2017 in an effort to prevent weather cancellations or delays and increase our chances of sunny days and clear mountain nights.

"Michael Franti often says that you get to experience ALL four seasons at Mountain Jam, however after 12 Mountain Jam festivals we decided it was finally time to push the date ahead, focusing on two ideal seasons Spring and Summer!

"We are committed to improving the festival each year. Stay tuned for more details regarding on-sale information, early Thursday admission to the campgrounds as well as a pre-party with music performances on the Indoor Stage, and an incredible lineup for Friday, Saturday and Sunday."

Mountain Jam brings together approximately 50 bands from the rock, indie and jam band worlds across three stages. Last year's installment featured such names as Beck, Wilco, the Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell and Gov't Mule, whose frontman, Warren Haynes, founded the festival. The promoters have created an official aftermovie about the 2016 festival, which is embedded above.
