Montana State University and the Bozeman community have several efforts planned to help welcome MSU students to town when they arrive for the beginning of the academic year:

Next week, volunteers on behalf of MSU will deliver more than 575 "Welcome Back Bobcats!" kits to businesses in Bozeman. The kits, which include athletic schedules, "Go Cats" signs, Bobcat flags and more, were designed to help local merchants welcome MSU students and their families to Bozeman and celebrate the start of the school year.

Students will also be welcomed by a large "welcome" banner over Main Street in downtown Bozeman which, in addition to MSU, is sponsored by the City of Bozeman and Downtown Bozeman Association. Also new this year, light pole banners will be seen on North 7th Street. The banners, which welcome visitors to Bozeman, are scheduled to be installed before MSU's Move-in Day on August 21.

Chelsea Schmidt, assistant director of business and community relations at MSU, said,

With help from the City, DBA and the 500-plus businesses that ordered kits, we've got every corner of Bozeman covered in blue and gold. What a great way to welcome our newest Bobcats to town!
