Park County Updates Fire Restrictions; Fireworks Banned

For residents in Park County preparing for 4th of July celebrations, this news may be a bit disappointing.

Park County has implemented Stage 2 Fire Restrictions on June 30. The new restrictions prohibit the use of fireworks, with the exception of the Livingston Roundup and Cooke City Fireworks shows.

For individuals that plan on going offroad this weekend, operating a motorized vehicle off of designated roads and trails has also been prohibited.

The announcement is in response to extreme fire conditions and limited resources. The picture below outlines what Stage 2 Fire Restrictions prohibit.

Luckily, residents of Livingston will still be able to see a fireworks show. Fireworks are scheduled after dark every night after the Livingston Roundup July 2 - July 4. To check out the full schedule for the Livingston Roundup, click here.

The City of Livingston announced its own set of fire restrictions on June 28.

For Bozeman residents, no restrictions are currently in place. However, City of Bozeman officials are asking residents to find an alternative to fireworks this year.

Though this one of the few times a year, when Bozeman residents are legally allowed to use fireworks within city limits, celebrating unwisely, could lead to the loss of life or property.
