This much loved KCBS sanctioned BBQ competition hosted by Kenyon Noble has been cancelled for 2020. Typically held in late August, it should return in 2021 bigger and better than ever.

The Annual Montana Pitmaster Classic - Montana’s State BBQ Championship, is the first KCBS affiliated BBQ Contest in Bozeman, Montana.

Some good news: The date for 2021 has already been set: August 27th & 28th, 2020!

Teams from around the region AND Canada normally compete in this 2-day event for the Montana State Championship of BBQ in the categories of chicken, pork ribs, pork and brisket.

According to the official press release from Kenyon Noble:

It is after much consideration that we, The Montana Pitmaster Classic Staff, have ultimately decided to cancel the Montana Pitmaster Classic for 2020.

The cancellation of this event was not an easy choice to make, however due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in Montana, as well as some logistical issues, we will be unable to move forward with this event.

We plan to continue the Montana Pitmaster Classic tradition next year, in 2021 and hope to see everyone there!
