Some counties in southwest Montana are at risk of lightning started fires until Friday night. High temps, low humidity and lightning strikes are creating dangerous conditions.
The good news is that much cooler weather is on the way. The bad news is that today is going to be hot and the winds are supposed to be erratic for many central and southern Montana counties prompting yet another Fire Weather Watch.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for critical fire weather for all of Southwest Montana through 9 p.m. tonight. The warning has been issued again today due to gusty winds and low relative humidity, which makes fighting local fires difficult.
