Thursday's weather south of Butte could be dangerous for fire potential with warm temps, gusty winds and low humidity.

Dangerous conditions including gusty winds for Bozeman, Manhattan, Townsend and other areas on Friday have prompted a Fire Weather Watch.

Some counties in southwest Montana are at risk of lightning started fires until Friday night. High temps, low humidity and lightning strikes are creating dangerous conditions.

Snow continues to fall in Gallatin and Madison counties with most falling above 6,000 feet. The snow is light and the city streets aren't too bad.

The good news is that much cooler weather is on the way. The bad news is that today is going to be hot and the winds are supposed to be erratic for many central and southern Montana counties prompting yet another Fire Weather Watch.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for critical fire weather for all of Southwest Montana through 9 p.m. tonight. The warning has been issued again today due to gusty winds and low relative humidity, which makes fighting local fires difficult.
