Reasonably good news to report about the Cottonwood Gulch Fire as it did not grow as much overnight as it did on Sunday. Currently at 8,700 acres and thought to be human caused.
The Cabin Gulch Fire is actively burning in the Deep Creek Canyon area east of Townsend. It is currently estimated to be between 50-100 acres in size, and is moving in the Northeast direction toward Cabin Gulch Timber Sale units.
