Watch U2 Play Three Songs on U.K.’s ‘TFI Friday’

Over the summer, TFI Friday -- the U.K. music series that originally aired between 1996 and 2000 -- reemerged for a two-hour 20th anniversary special featuring performances from Liam Gallagher, Roger Daltrey and Blur. The special went so well, the show has officially returned to syndication with a new season. U2 helped break in TFI Firday’s second act, performing four songs.

U2 played Songs of Innocence’s “Raised By Wolves” and “Song for Someone” and How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb’s “Vertigo.” They closed things out with Boy’s “Out of Control.” You can watch the first three songs in the clips at the bottom of the page.

Bono and company also sat down for an interview with host Chris Evans, during which they said it’s taken roughly 35 years to finally get to where they want to be as a band. Evans also brought out his son, Noah, to ask the band a fairly hardball question: “How much longer do you think you’ve got?” Leave it to the seasoned Irish rockers to be completely unfazed by their own mortality. During TFI Friday’s anniversary special, the Who’s Roger Daltrey teamed up with ex-Oasis bandmates Liam Gallagher, Paul Arthurs and Zak Starkey and Lightning Seeds’ Ian Broudie to play “My Generation.” Blur also made an appearance, playing their 13 hit, “Coffee and TV.”
