Headwear for Hope: How You Can Help Gallatin County Women Battling Cancer
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we want to not only raise awareness about breast cancer, but to impact the lives of local women who are going through chemo therapy right now. Townsquare Media Bozeman is proud to partner with Ressler Chevrolet - Find New Roads, and Cancer Support Community to bring you “Headwear for Hope”.
In addition to raising breast cancer awareness, the Headwear for Hope campaign is dedicated to providing free wigs, scarves, and head shaving for the residents of Bozeman and all of Gallatin County.
When I first heard about the work that Cancer Support Community did for people right here in the valley, I immediately wanted to support them in their work and gather businesses to partner in this great cause.
“When I first heard about the work that Cancer Support Community did for people right here in the valley, I immediately wanted to support them in their work and gather businesses to partner in this great cause. Although my wife and mother have both beat different forms of cancer, neither one had to go through chemotherapy, so I’m fairly removed from the challenges and impact of that," said Townsquare Media's Tyler Kechely.
"When Becky Franks shared with me the story of a gal who went to a local budget salon to get her head shaved, it impacted me in a way that I wasn’t expecting. Cancer Support Community understands more than anyone the significance of a women having to shave their head, and not only do they provide a comfortable safe place for this, but they are there to provide free wigs, scarves and a comfortable place for a women to take that step in temporarily removing her hair. That’s why we have to raise money for this.”
