
Winter Storm Watch: Up to 20 Inches Possible in Montana Mountains
If you thought winter was over in Montana, think again. A cold front moving into Montana late Wednesday will bring rain and snow into the mountains and valleys across the state.
Western Montana is expected to see the most snow, with up to 20 inches possible for higher elevations and mountain ranges. Prepare for winter driving conditions, especially if traveling through mountain passes.
Heavy, wet snow is expected across many mountain passes in western Montana, with 3 to 12 inches of snow possible.

Winter Storm Watch: Late Wednesday Through Thursday Afternoon
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Gallatin County, and the Bozeman area could receive 5-7" of snow late Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon. Highest snow accumulations will be on the south and east ends of the Gallatin Valley.
- WHAT: Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 7 inches are possible, with the highest amounts in the south and east portions of the Bozeman valley.
- WHERE: Gallatin Valley
- WHEN: Late Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon
- IMPACTS: Slushy snow-covered roads may make travel very
difficult, especially on Thursday morning. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes
