Winter Weather Advisory Until Noon Tuesday for Southern Gallatin County
Monday and Tuesday could bring several inches of snow and gusty winds to southern Gallatin County. Some areas could see up to 8 inches of fresh snow.
According to the National Weather Service:
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREAT FALLS HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO NOON MDT TUESDAY.
- LOCATIONS: TARGHEE PASS AND WEST YELLOWSTONE.
- TIMING: SCATTERED LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS THIS MORNING WILL GIVE WAY TO PERIODS OF SNOW, MODERATE AT TIMES, THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING.
- SOME RAIN MAY MIX WITH THE SNOW THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING, ESPECIALLY IN AND AROUND WEST YELLOWSTONE.
- ACCUMULATIONS: SNOW TOTALS OF 3 TO 8 INCHES, ESPECIALLY ALONG GRASSY SURFACES.
- WINDS: NORTHWEST 5 TO 10 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH.
- VISIBILITY: REDUCED TO 1/2 MILE AT TIMES.
- SNOW LEVEL: 6500 FEET LOWERING TO 5500 FEET.
- SLICK AND SNOW-COVERED ROADWAYS, ESPECIALLY OVERNIGHT TONIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.
- ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES MAY OCCUR.
