Yeah Yeah Yeahs Premiere Two New Songs
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs performed two new songs at a small concert in California last night. The first, called 'Suck Young Blood,' opened the band's 13-song set at the at the Glass House in Pomona.
The second song, which doesn't have a title, showed up midway through the group's show, where frontwoman Karen O sported a new blonde do. Videos for both songs have surfaced online.
The first song features a familiar mix of jagged indie rock and a raging Karen O, who tosses in some screams and howls for good measure. The other tune cops a slinkier beat, along with some sound effects.
Last night's intimate gig also included Yeah Yeah Yeah favorites like 'Heads Will Roll,' 'Skeletons,' 'Cheated Hearts' and 'Maps.' There were only two new songs performed.
The band is currently working on its fourth album, which is due in the spring. The record, which still doesn't have a title, will be the Yeah Yeah Yeah's first LP since 2010's 'It's a Blitz!' LCD Soundsystem mastermind James Murphy recently denied rumors that he was producing the album, one of 2013's most anticipated indie-rock releases.
