Yeah Yeah Yeahs Reunite in NYC, Cover David Bowie, Lou Reed at Star-Studded Show
Yeah Yeah Yeahs reunited for their first performance since November 2013 at a party celebrating legendary music photographer Mick Rock.
Rolling Stone reports that new mom Karen O led an all-star house band that included fellow Yeah Yeah Yeahs Nick Zinner and Brian Chase along with TV on the Radio bassist Jaleel Bunton and Beastie Boys collaborator Money Mark. The makeshift supergroup played covers of David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream”, Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” and the Ramones’ “Sheena Is a Punk Rocker” along with others.
The party at New York's Dream Hotel was in honor of Mick Rock, whose documentary Shot! The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra of Rock, premiered that night at the Tribeca Film Festival.
