Another Rally in Bozeman Planned for Friday
Bozeman United for Racial Justice, the Montana State University Black Student Union, and The Montana Racial Equity Project, who organized Sunday's demonstration, are planning another rally at Bogert Park on Friday, June 5th from 4-6 PM.
Organizers require attendees to wear masks and practice social distancing. Masks will be provided to those who don't have access to one to the best of the organizer's ability. They also ask that those feeling sick or have been in contact with someone who is symptomatic to stay home and find another means in which to show support.
Sunday's peaceful protest brought over 1,500 Bozeman-area residents to the park, guiding demonstrators along Main Street sidewalks before then gathering at the Gallatin County Courthouse steps.
The event is part of the National Day of Action for Black Lives, showing support for racial equality and police reform in cities across the country.
Rallies occurred in Missoula, Havre, Whitefish, Helena, Great Falls, Billings, and Bozeman over the the last week in response to the police-related death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last Monday.
