Björk described her most recent full-length Vulnicura as a breakup album, and it was inasmuch as it was beautifully fractured and often gut-wrenchingly confessional. Now, the Icelandic artist is working on a follow-up, and she says it couldn’t be farther removed from its predecessor.

Shortly after Tri Angle Records associate Robin Carolan revealed Björk’s new material is going to “blow you all away,” the singer-songwriter confirmed the news in an interview with AnOther Magazine. Björk has again teamed up with producer Arca for her latest outing, and she has already written three songs.

In comparison to Vulnicura, which Björk described as “hell” and “like a divorce,” she describes her next album as “paradise” and “utopia”:

I’m writing my next thing. I’m still allowing myself to be a submarine; I don’t totally have the view of it yet. It’s funny, each album is different for me. Like, what comes first? With this one it’s maybe the melodies. This is very abstract, but the melodies have a similar kind of shape. But it’s really early on, and I don’t even know if I should say, but I have got three songs down with Alejandro [Ghersi, aka Arca], who I worked with on the last album ['Vulnicura']. The last album, we sort of call it “hell” -- it was like divorce! So we are doing paradise now. Utopia. We have done hell, we have earned some points.
