LOOK: Interesting Old Bozeman Stuff That Isn’t There Anymore
The only constant is change, as it's said. Bozeman's change over the years is striking for those people who have been here for many years. Some change has been for the better, while the drastic change in the landscape and 'town feel' has been hard for many folks.
Urban development isn't always a bad thing. We've seen many examples of old building re-development such as the Armory in downtown turn into a usable (and needed) high-end Kimpton Hotel.
Almost all of the original art deco Armory building was preserved on the lower levels. It now blends very well into the multistory hotel in the heart of town. Not bad for a piece of property that stood empty and unloved for many years.
Change in Bozeman is everywhere: downtown, North 7th Avenue, North 19th Avenue, and the countless condos and apartments that have started to fill up the north and south side of town.
Infrastructure growth has also boomed, with the City of Bozeman and Gallatin County making improvements - although not quite at the pace of Bozeman's growth.

In positive news, the City Commission adopted the Parks, Recreation and Active Transportation on September 12, 2023. Protecting the recreational activities and spaces that Bozeman has is imperative to 'keeping the vibe' of why so many want to live here.
The (Parks, Recreation and Active Transportation) plan recognizes the intersection of park infrastructure and trails with the broader transportation network and is the first step in creating a community with more equitable access to parks, trails, which in turn feeds into a more accessible transportation network that better connects our community. So let's take a trip back in time around the Bozeman area. What funky stuff used to be part of the Bozeman vibe that are no longer here? There are so many to list, but we started with these.
