WARNING: 100 Degrees on Wednesday for Eastern Montana

Almost all of the eastern half of Montana is under a Heat Advisory for Wednesday. Daytime temperatures will reach the upper 90s and many places will be in the triple digits. Residents and travelers should take care to stay hydrated and prevent any sparking from towing units.

There are different details for different areas of eastern Montana. Below are the Advisory points by region:

• MILES CITY AND AREAS SE: A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TO 9 PM WEDNESDAY EVENING.
• WHAT...Temperatures up to around 100 expected.
• WHERE...Northeastern Yellowstone, Treasure, Custer, and Northern Rosebud.
• WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 9 PM this evening.
• IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat related illnesses.

For areas in northeastern Montana, there are also several Heat Advisories in effect all day Wednesday:

• A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING TO 9 PM WEDNESDAY EVENING.
• WHAT...Temperatures in the upper 90s to low 100s.
• WHERE...A portion of northeast Montana.
• WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 9 PM this evening.
• IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur.
• PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
• To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
• Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
• Heat stroke is an emergency
