If you're already planning weekend getaways, consider heading east to "Montana's Badlands". Areas around Glendive, Terry and Jordan provide an incredible amount of interesting terrain for all abilities.

Dillon Urlacher shared this nice drone footage of eastern Montana. (We're not EXACTLY sure where he took it.) However, there's plenty to go around if you're looking for areas like this to hike, camp or mountain bike.

If history is more your thing, these regions are insanely full of "life".

The 300-mile stretch of the Missouri River from Fort Benton to Fort Peck is a showcase of sandstone creatures and badlands that illustrate evidence of what passed here 70 million years ago. Sections of McCone, Garfield and Phillips counties north and south of the Missouri were home to Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Mosasaurus (a marine reptile) and other giant creatures. Due to erosion, some of the richest records of prehistoric life in the world have been, and continue to be, uncovered here.
