
After Monday’s Violent Storms, Montana Prepares for More Issues Tuesday
Today is sketchy for most of western Montana in terms of flooding risk. Even flash flooding could occur if Tuesday storms aren't dry lightning situations. It's sort of a 'no win' on Tuesday.
As of Tuesday morning, the risk of flooding is reserved for areas west of Helena, Butte, and Dillon. Weather issues have been volatile the last couple of days, so localized storms might be very different than just a few miles away.
- A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING.
- WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
- WHERE...Portions of east central Idaho, including the following county, Lemhi and Montana, including the following counties, Deer Lodge, Granite, Lake, Missoula, Powell, Ravalli and Silver Bow.
- This includes the following Specific Areas... Missoula, Butte, Frontage Road from Bearmouth to Drummond, West Valley near Anaconda, Philipsburg, Eds Gulch in Drummond, Highway 93 8 miles south of Salmon to Ellis, Highway 93 north of Ellis, Hwy 93 4th of July Creek to Tower Creek, Salmon River Road between North Fork and Shoup, New Chicago area just east of Drummond, Salmon River Road near Moose Fire Burn Area, Moose Fire Burn Area, Johnson Fire Burn Area, Daly Fire Burn Area and Sharrott Fire Burn Area.
- WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
- IMPACTS...Rock fall, debris flow and water over roadways.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS... Slow moving storms producing moderate to heavy rainfall could potentially cause flash flood conditions in burn scars and flood prone areas.
