It's been a long, hot, smoky summer...

Finally, the day I've been waiting for, today is the first day of Fall. That magical time of year when it cools down at night and we begin to see snow on the tops of the Mountains.

For many of us, Fall is without a doubt our favorite time of year.. So, I decided to put together a list and asked my friends and loved ones what are the best things about Fall in Montana.

I present to you "The Best Things About Fall in Montana"

    • Hunting Season. Whether it is Elk, Deer, or whatever.  There is something spiritual about being one with nature and going out to hopefully harvest meat for you and your loved ones.  Hunting is as old as time and here in Montana, we are blessed with ample lands and opportunities. (BTW Rifle Season for Elk starts Oct. 23rd)

    • Sweater and Hoodie Season.  Apparently this is a big deal for the ladies, and even a few of the fellas. People love "sweater weather". I'm also told that Fall is also the beginning of "Boot Season" but I wasn't going to add that to the list, so it gets a mention in the Sweater and Hoodie bullet point.

    • College Football.  Now we're talking!  Here in Montana, you're either a Bobcat or a Griz and nothing is bigger than "The Brawl of the Wild" game, which takes place this year in Missoula. (Go Cats)

    • Pumpkin Spice.  Once again, I feel like this is more of a "lady thing", but Pumpkin Spice is a big deal here in Montana, with the state coming in at #5 on the "Most Obsessed Over Pumpkin Spice" list.

    • Chopping Wood.  Now we're talking about manly man stuff. Chainsaws and axes equals awesome.
