Only in Montana: Testy Fest Is Back and Bigger Than Ever
If you want to experience a true Montana tradition, the 2026 Testy Fest is one of the most unique festivals in the entire state, and a great way to celebrate the history of cattle ranching in Big Sky Country.
The 10th Annual Testy Fest is happening at the Old Saloon on Sunday, May 24. The Old Saloon is located in the Paradise Valley, south of Livingston. This year's event is expected to be bigger and better than ever. A percentage of the proceeds from the 2026 event will be donated to the Testicular Cancer Foundation.
The festival will include live music from the Zech Peabody Trio, Rocky Mountain Pearls, and Pecos & the Rooftops.

Some people call them Rocky Mountain Oysters, which are made from bull testicles that are peeled, sliced, breaded, and fried. Many people smother them with hot sauce and other condiments to improve the flavor.

I've tried them prepared in a variety of different ways, but I've had trouble getting past the texture. They're a bit too chewy for my liking, but if you live in Montana, you have to try them at least once.
Part of the festival’s appeal is its sense of humor and self-awareness. Montanans don’t take themselves too seriously. Instead, Testy Fest is a celebration of rural tradition, ranching history, and community gathering. It’s unusual, it’s loud, and it’s very much rooted in the Montana lifestyle.
