We all know that the last few years have been rough for a lot of locals.

Folks from all over have been moving to Montana, several of them from places with high home values, so when they show up to The Treasure State, they have money to spend.  Of course, this has resulted in home prices soaring, which means a lot of Montanans hoping to become homeowners, can't.

This and a couple of other things may or may not have turned locals a little bitter when it comes to welcoming transplants, but if you find yourself part of that group, I have some great news for you.

  • Cost Of Living
  • Higher Education
  • Housing
  • Public Schools
  • Diversity
  • Crime And Safety
  • Health And Fitness
  • Jobs
  • Nightlife
  • Outdoor Activities

They took all of those factors, combined them, and came up with the Top 50 best locations.  I mean, a few of those categories scream Montana, right?  Surely more than one Montana city or town made the Top 50, the question is how many?

None, actually.

Not one single Montana city or town made the Top 50.  While some folks might be disappointed to hear this, especially in the business and retail industries in the state, many will be pleased that we didn't make the list.

Why?

Well, because every time we do well in one of these lists, or there is some popular television show highlighting the beauty of the state, people decide that Montana is where they want to be and many Montanans are fed up with it.  So, for those who feel the state is "full", rejoice.  This is good news.

Like every state, there are always going to be a few towns that make us think twice about moving there or deciding where to raise our kiddos. But like I always say, "negative yells and positive whispers". The same goes for crime and violence; we hear about all the drug busts, assaults, break-ins, etc. It's not very often we hear about all the great things right?
Well, the list came out from Safewise, and we now know where the Five Safest Cities In Montana are.
