The boating conditions on Fort Peck Lake are not great on Friday, with wind gusts up to 35 mph. A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued.

- IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Waves up to 3 feet are expected today over Fort Peck Lake.
- PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Boaters on Fort Peck Lake should use extra caution since strong winds and rough waves can overturn small craft.

There are six recreation sites within close proximity to the dam. By checking the Fort Peck Lake projected wave model, you can determine which areas might be more dangerous than others.
"One recommendation is to go out to the Pines Campground, about 20 miles southwest of the dam. It provides some great scenery and photo opportunities, especially late in the day." (Missouri River MT)
