Caution Urged: Gusts Of Up To 60 MPH Along I90 Corridor
Expect dangerous crosswinds of up to 60 MPH through the I-90 corridor between Bozeman and Billings, until late morning on Thursday. There are some specific areas of travel concern for this heavily traveled stretch of road.
The areas of highest concern will be on I-90 near Livingston, Big Timber, and Reed Point. Gusty crosswinds create dangerous conditions on the road, as larger vehicles and semis can easily get blown around - or even blown over.

- WHAT...Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
- WHERE...Beartooth Foothills and Livingston Area.
- WHEN...From 8 AM Wednesday to 11 AM Thursday.
- IMPACTS...Strong crosswinds will make travel difficult along Interstate 90 from Livingston to Big Timber and roads along the Beartooth Foothills.

Wednesday will also be a very windy day for the Fort Peck Lake area and the surrounding counties. However, the Lake Wind issues should not last as long as the concerning crosswinds on I-90.

- WHERE...Central and Southeast Phillips, Central and Southern Valley, Garfield, McCone, and Petroleum Counties.
- WHEN...Until 5 PM Wednesday afternoon.
- IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft.
- PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Boaters on Fort Peck Lake should use extra caution since strong winds and rough waves can overturn small craft.
