Triple digit temperatures continue for portions of Idaho and Washington through Tuesday evening. Dangerously hot daytime highs could affect activities and travel plans.

NOTE: The Heat Advisories are not the same for northern and southwest Idaho. Both advisories are listed below.

  • Northern Idaho: A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM TUESDAY.
  • WHAT...High temperatures between 93 and 104 degrees.
  • Overnight lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s.
  • WHERE...Portions of North and North Central Idaho and Central, East Central, North Central, Northeast, and Southeast Washington.
  • WHEN...From 9 AM Monday morning to 9 PM Tuesday.
  • IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.
  • PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
  • Take extra precautions when outside.
  • Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.
  • Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
  • Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

  • WHAT...Temperatures up to 104 expected in the Lower Snake Plain, Treasure Valley, and Weiser Basin.
  • WHERE...Portions of southwest Idaho and southeast Oregon.
  • WHEN...Until 8 PM Tuesday.
  • IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, especially for the young, elderly, and animals.
  • PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
  • Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.
  • Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
  • Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
  • To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
  • Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
  • Heat stroke is an emergency!
