6 More Inches of New Snow For Red Lodge
More snow this afternoon into this evening for the Beartooth Foothills and the area surrounding Red Lodge. Another 6 inches of fresh snow could fall by midnight.
Although none of the measured basin regions in Montana are to 'normal' yet, the snowpack situation has improved a lot over the last several weeks. If these storms to continue to rotate through, we'll see even more improvement.
The SNOTEL map further down will show the water equivalent in Montana's basins as of March 12th, 2024. If we continue on this path, the summer fire season won't be quite as scary. Just back in January, things were looking absolutely dire.
