Look for an increase in law enforcement patrols in all areas of Gallatin County for the Fourth of July holiday weekend to keep Montana’s roads free of impaired drivers. All local law enforcement agencies will be working together to encourage drivers to drive sober this holiday or find a sober ride.

Driving while impaired could result in a DUI charge, having your driver’s license revoked, mandatory classes, possible jail time, and up to $10,000 in fines and legal fees. Or worse if you are involved in an impaired driving crash, the cost can be serious injury or even death to you or others.

They're reminding folks:

There is no excuse for driving while impaired. It’s every driver’s responsibility to be sober and take traffic safety seriously – for themselves, their friends and family, and everyone else on the road.

You can also expect increased patrols across the state of Montana. The summer season is known historically as the 100 deadliest days in Montana and law enforcement is encouraging everyone to make a responsible plan before the Fourth of July celebrations begin.
