MONTANA RECALL: Check Your Freezer For This Popular Snack That Might Be Spoiled
These easy to heat snacks might be one of the most popular in the freezers of parents with kids. However, it's crucial that you check your freezer to make sure you don't have certain bags as they were spoiled before they even hit your home. The USDA is concerned that there might still be bags in freezers across America, including Montana.
Bags of these corn dogs are likely still in freezers, even though their bags are printed with "best if used by date of 4/23/24". When they're in the freezer, they typically last much longer. These products were shipped all over the place so this is a nationwide recall. Take a moment and check your freezer, and if you know anyone who eats these products, call them and let them know to toss the bag. According to the USDA recall:
- The mini chicken corn dogs were produced on April 24, 2023.
- 1.83-lb. resealable bag containing “FOSTER FARMS MINI CORN DOGS BITE-SIZED CHICKEN FRANKS DIPPED IN BATTER HONEY CRUNCHY FLAVOR” with lot codes 123114 and 223114 and best if used by date of 4/23/24.
- The product subject to recall bears the establishment number “P- 9136” printed on the package.
These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
The problem was discovered after the firm notified FSIS that it received consumer complaints that the product had an odor, off appearance, and unpleasant taste.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.
These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
Again, the initial recall was put out weeks ago, however there a very real possibility that spoiled products are still sitting in freezers across America, including Montana freezers. It's easy to keep up with all sort of recalls from the USDA.
