Montana Special Weather Statement for Saturday
Windy conditions are making for a variety of unusual weather patterns around Montana today. Some areas may experience poor driving conditions.
According to the National Weather Service:
SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO EARLY THIS AFTERNOON, ESPECIALLY IN THE MOUNTAINS, CAUSING SUDDEN REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY AND VARIABLE ROAD CONDITIONS.
- A FEW SNOW SHOWERS WILL REACH THE VALLEY FLOORS.
- GUSTY WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CAUSE REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY IN SPOTS DUE TO BLOWING SNOW.
- THE WIND MAY ALSO CAUSE SNOW TO DRIFT OVER ROADS, CAUSING PREVIOUSLY CLEARED ROADS TO BECOME SNOW COVERED.
- MELTING OF SNOW COVERED AND ICY ROADS IN SOME AREAS WILL MAINTAIN SLIPPERY CONDITIONS.
- BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES... AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING. FOR SPECIFIC ROAD AND TRAVEL CONDITIONS IN MONTANA DIAL 511.
