Southwest Montana is under a High Wind warning until Tuesday afternoon with winds of 60 to 70 mph possible at times, accompanied by snow. Dangerous driving conditions will occur.
Ugh. We've been plagued by gusty winds all week. It appears that a High Wind Watch will continue for several southwest Montana counties through Saturday night with gusts up to 60 mph.
The entire state of Montana has been windy for days. But the eastern half of the state is getting a double whammy of high winds AND Fire Weather Watches for several counties. Dangerous conditions exist until at least Thursday night.
At least a dozen counties have some sort of Wind Advisory or Winter Weather Advisory in effect for this weekend with wind gusts up to 60 MPH in some locations.
Monday and Tuesday will be dangerously windy at times with gusts up to 80 MPH for areas around East Glacier in northern Montana. A High Wind Watch is in effect for Monday through Tuesday evening.
Wednesday and Thursday could be dangerous for travel if you're headed north. Several counties are under a High Wind Watch with gusts up to 70 MPH possible.
