Vampire Weekend Premiere Two New Tracks: ‘Diane Young’ and ‘Step’ [Listen]
It's been nearly three years since we've heard new music from Vampire Weekend, but the wait is finally over. The band has premiered two news songs -- 'Diane Young,' the first single off their forthcoming 'Modern Vampires of the City' album, and 'Step,' another cut from the disc -- ahead of the May 7 release date, and you can listen to both in their entirety here.
The frantic and frenetic 'Diane Young,' an unhinged stomper with wild drumming and unexpected electronic jabs, shows that singer Ezra Koenig and the boys are bursting with energy in anticipation for the album. 'Step,' meanwhile, which features a mid-tempo groove, gorgeous melodies and lyrics that warrant repeated listens, that takes things down a couple notches. In addition to appearing on 'Modern Vampires of the City,' the two songs will be available on a limited-edition 7-inch single due out April 9.
