A thousand bucks certainly won't get you what it used to, but in Montana, it can still go a long way. Obviously, you're not going to be able to buy land or a home, but you can buy yourself a lot of cool stuff.

We just kicked off our annual Spring cash contest, and it got me thinking about what $1,000 can still buy you in Montana.

What You Can Still Buy With $1,000 in Montana

With summer coming up, there are several things I can think of. I don't know about you, but my camping gear is in desperate need of an upgrade.

Spring and Summer are also the best times for hiking and exploring Montana's backcountry. You could upgrade your hiking gear, like a new pair of boots, or a new backpack to store your gear.

If you're good to go there, you could find an older dirt bike or ATV. I grew up riding dirt bikes, and haven't done it in years. I often think about finding an old fixer-upper and reliving my glory days.

Summer is concert season in Montana, and you could easily spend $1,000 on concert tickets. If you're a musician, you could get some gear or a sweet new guitar.

If you like to travel, you could put the money towards plane tickets and vacation expenses. You might even be able to afford first class.

If you like craft beer, you could buy a kegerator and a couple of kegs of your favorite beer.

As I said, a thousand dollars isn't what it used to be, but it could still improve your life in many ways or help you plan your next adventure.
