Fire restrictions at all MT Fish, Wildlife & Parks properties in Region 3 were lifted today. This includes fishing access sites, wildlife management areas, and Montana State Parks. Details here:

State 1 restrictions that were put into place in early summer due to prevailing dry and mild conditions have now been lifted as of 12:01 a.m. today. The restrictions included a ban on open fires (campfires included), and constraints on smoking.

Despite a limited amount of recent precipitation, FWP urges continued caution related to the use of fire on all public lands in southwest Montana. Grasses are still dry and lands are susceptible to fire no matter the date on the calender.

A note to Region 3 hunters: restrictions may remain at some Block Management Areas. Check the Block Management page at fwp.mt.gov for the most recent information.
